The year in review, the life of an artist

I can’t believe how quickly Christmas came as the month flew by.

The solo exhibit was wonderful, and I am so glad that the event came together so well. I learned so much about my art, what it means to others, the support of my friends and local art lovers. I’ve been holding on to that feeling, and it really helps. It is easy to feel a little blue during the winter, and I've had to push myself back into my studio.

I spent December sketching and painting watercolor studies for paintings, I found that practice soothing and quick, I can finish a watercolor painting in 2 hours.

Today I actually started a new piece on canvas, and I felt like a super star.

Although it is in it's rough stage, I am thrilled with the direction it is headed.

A study, for a painting to come,
A study, for a painting to come,

I used watercolor crayons and watercolor markers. I like the whimsy of it and I needed to shake things up, try new techniques and continue being playful.

Currently dreaming up my art goals and hopes for 2026, I'm hoping to be involved in more art fairs, and gallery's, I totally want to curate another solo exhibit next year. It would be so exciting to create an art book with poetry.

Fuller Lodge Art Exhibit 2025

I am feeling so grateful for the accomplishments of 2025, I did so much more than I had thought possible: I was accepted into my first gallery show, and then my second, third and fourth. The craft fair that I was able to take part in was so challenging but I sold paintings and got ideas for my next attempt. Selling painting with the fuller lodge in the gift shop in Los Alamos NM was a fun experience and has given me ideas for more projects, I also began teaching at fuller lodge, and although I felt clumsy I really enjoy sharing what I've learned. This year I built a website, and learned how to monetize it, and lastly I was able to organize a solo exhibition for myself.

I can’t wait to create through the winter with my hot cocoa, warm fireplace, and art supplies in a well lit studio all my own. It is a slow down time of year, and also a time to gear up for what the new year holds.

Thank you for being here, and supporting me.
